Some nights feel like they are pulled straight from a movie, and April 13th, 2025, at the KOKO in London, was one of them. Mark Ambor’s second sold-out show in Camden Town was everything I hoped for and more. I had bought my ticket months in advance, and it ended up being one of those rare moments where the anticipation lived up to the experience. One of the things I love most about seeing American artists abroad is how much more accessible the shows are, with affordable tickets, chill crowds, and an energy that feels intimate and electric all at once. This one felt like a hidden gem.
Mark played an 18-song set from his album Rockwood and somehow never lost momentum. He saved “Belong Together” for the very end, and when it finally hit, the entire room was singing in unison; it was pure magic. And being short finally worked in my favor. A kind couple saw me struggling to see and let me slide in front of them, right to the fence in front of the pit. I had a clear, direct view of the stage the entire night. But the night didn’t end there.
After the show, I got one of Mark’s signature last-minute texts, a pop-up at a random London bar. He is known for these surprise hangouts, but this was the first time I caught one. Mark was just casually spending time with fans as if it were the most normal thing in the world. Seeing him perform live and chatting with him just hours later made the whole experience feel deeply personal.
It wasn’t just a concert. It was a night to remember, a core memory.
