Carlsbad, NM — The Cavern City Renaissance Festival returned to Lake Carlsbad Beach Park this fall, drawing crowds from across the region for a weekend of fantasy, fun, and community spirit.
The festival transformed the park into a lively medieval village, complete with knights in armor, fire dancers, artisan vendors, and costumed performers.
“I just love how everyone gets into character,” said one attendee dressed as a tall man.
The event featured more than 100 vendors selling handmade goods, food, and drinks. Families explored the grounds, watched sword fights, and learned about medieval crafts from members of the Society for Creative Anachronism. Kids could try archery, meet falconers, and even take part in a royal scavenger hunt.
The Renaissance Festival isn’t just about costumes and entertainment; it’s also a celebration of Carlsbad’s creativity and hospitality. With camping options, themed zones, and interactive experiences, it offers something for all ages.
Whether you came for the turkey legs, the jousting, or just to take photos with tall men and princesses, the Cavern City Renaissance Festival proved once again that a little imagination can go a long way in bringing people together.
