The Masters is much more than just an ordinary golf tournament. It’s known as one of the most iconic events in sports and to some sports fans, the biggest event of the year. Every April, golfers of the highest level from all around the world gather to compete at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. The course itself is known for its beauty just as much as its difficulty. Every aspect of The Masters Tournament has a distinct feel that sets it apart from all other major sporting events.

What particularly makes this tournament special is the moments that it creates year after year. Whether it’s a tournament-winning putt on Sunday or the emotional walk to receive the green jacket, The Masters has produced some of golf’s most unforgettable moments. Players like Tiger Woods have added to their legacies with special performances that still resonate with golf fans today.

The tournament dates back to 1934, when Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts wanted to showcase the Augusta National Golf Course. Originally called the Augusta National Invitation Tournament, it didn’t take long to form into one of the biggest stages in sports. By 1939, it was named “The Masters” due to its growing popularity amongst fans as well as the media. Today, The Masters stands as a perfect blend of history, tradition, and high-level competition.
