There were many different people presenting such as Kathleen M. Rodgers and Bobby Benally.
Bramlett, assistant professor of Communication at ENMU, was one of the presenters, providing interesting information on various social media writing styles.
Bramlett touched on the distinct writing styles that are used within social media. But before he discussed the subject, it is important to understand the different key areas for effectively writing for social media. Bramlett emphasized that to successfully use the different writing styles, you must understand content, community and conversation for the brand you are writing for.
Bramlett focused on emphasizing how important it was for a company to have a brand voice and how important it was to create a writing guide. For the brand voice, it is important to be consistent and authentic; you must embody the characteristics that are distinct to your brand. To create a writing guide, it is essential to stay consistent. This guide will set the standard and voice for your brand.
Bramlett touched on the different writing styles which include, professional, snarky, witty, personality focused, product and brand focused, inspirational, audience focused, conversational, and educational. He also gave viewers real life examples from Twitter of different brands who possess these styles. For instance, the brand Wendy’s has a witty writing style, Doritos has a product and brand focused writing style, and National Geographic has an educational writing style.
