The deadline for the ENMU Foundation Scholarships is set for the morning of Feb. 15.
The Eastern New Mexico University Foundation offers scholarships each year to all current students of Eastern New Mexico University.
Over $40 thousand is awarded through these scholarships by the ENMU Foundation every year. These scholarships are available to accepted incoming freshman, transfer students, undergraduate students, and graduate students.
Most of the scholarships are funded by trusts and endowments by benefactors of the university. These donors establish the criteria necessary to qualify for their scholarships. Each scholarship
has a different list of specific criteria that must be met, however, there are some requirements that are the same across the board.
The scholarships are organized by the college and awarded to students who exemplify academic excellence. In order to qualify, applicants must be full-time students and for most, must have at least a 3.0 overall GPA, although some scholarships do require a higher overall GPA.
While some require applicants to show financial need, and some require a base number of credits/prerequisites be met, there are many other scholarships that have minimal requirements.
All students are encouraged to apply for as many of the foundation scholarships as they qualify for! Many are quite generous and can be great additions to your resume. You never know what you might receive unless you apply.
Foundation scholarships are offered to students by the colleges within the University. The organization of scholarships is as follows: College of Business, College of Education & Technology, College of Fine Arts, and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The ENMU Foundation also offers general scholarships and athletics scholarships.
The scholarships are awarded for the entire academic year starting in the fall. The money received is divided equally between the fall and spring semester. If, however, a student does not continue their education into the spring semester, then they will only be awarded the amount for the fall.
The foundation scholarships do come with a few caveats. In order to keep your scholarship, you must return the “Acceptance Agreement” form to the ENMU foundation, you must also thank the donors of your scholarship(s) with written letters, and lastly attend the annual Scholarship Awards Assembly.

Don’t forget to submit your application by 11 a.m. on Feb. 15!
