While it’s no secret that New Mexico has a never-ending supply of amazing artists that provides colorful murals and exhibits for us to admire, Meow Wolf in Santa Fe takes this to a whole new level. Meow Wolf can be described as an interactive art exhibit with a collection of artists who all have very different visions.
With its maze-like setup, you never know what to expect each time you turn a corner or open a refrigerator door. Meow Wolf’s main installation is “House of Eternal Return” and is the first attraction you see when you first enter the exhibit. The large Victorian style home feels welcoming yet intimidating. It tells the story of the Selig family, who mysteriously disappeared after experimenting with interdimensional travel. The exhibit gives you the opportunity to solve this mystery during your visit.
Events are held throughout the year, and there’s a little bit of something for everyone. They recently held an “adulti-verse” which was catered to those over 21. Concerts are held there and provide a more intimate experience than what one is used to at a venue.
If you find yourself in the area, I recommend visiting Meow Wolf, since there are very few things like it in New Mexico. It’s an experience to witness. Meow Wolf is open Thursday through Monday from 10am to 8pm, and 10am to 10pm on Friday.
