At this stage in life where most of you are in college, it is important to know and understand what your calling is and what career field your heart is calling you towards.
There is an entire world out there with near endless opportunity, just waiting for someone to grab. Right now, you are most likely still in college trying to figure out where life will take you. What jobs will open up? Where will I have to move next? Something else to consider is what type of work will bring you happiness and fulfillment?
The jobs in this world are endless. Of course, we have jobs like accountants, lawyers, educators, and things of that sort and each of these jobs takes their own set of personalities and passions. Certain professions require certain personalities. For example, individuals involved with fire and EMS must be caring and compassionate to their patients while also being knowledgeable about their equipment and how to use it to be the most effective. Within recreation jobs like raft/trail/hunting guides, these people must create the best customer experience possible by accounting for safety and providing the customer with funny stories, as well as working knowledge of the land. They need to be personable and guide engaging conversations among doing their actual job. The individuals must also obviously love the outdoors.
You may find that you personally need a rigid structure where you are told what to do and your tasks do not vary greatly day to day. Maybe being in a regular office space is what you need. Maybe being out amongst the wilderness is where you find true fulfillment. Or you could be someone that enjoys the safety and comfort of their home where you need a remote job.
All of this is for you to figure out. The decision does not have to be made immediately, but decide for yourself what you need to do for yourself to find fulfillment. Take some time for self-reflection every now and again and reevaluate where you want to be and what will make you happy. Do not be afraid to think outside the box. Since job opportunities are near endless, try some things out first and gain some diverse experience. This will make you a more marketable candidate for whatever job you finally settle on.
