November is here, meaning this is the time for a wardrobe shift. Many people wear a pullover hoodie and comfy pants, such as sweats or pajama pants. This is understandable because this is, indeed, a cozy time of the year. With some simple tips and tricks, styling your wardrobe to accommodate this slight change in degree will be simple.
The first step is to establish a color pattern that will compliment skin tone, hair color, or eye color. The classic color scheme for fall is deep reds, variations of browns, bright oranges, and tones of yellow. Hues of blues and greens are also acceptable because they can fall under the earth tone category. These colors are luckily complimentary for all eye colors and most hair colors.
Many people with brown eyes and dark hair look good in a yellow-toned, light-brown-toned, or light-blue top. Deep forest greens and some navy blues also compliment brown eyes and dark hair and people with blue or hazel eyes.
A person with brown eyes and light hair would look best in variations of yellow and brown to complement both hair and eyes. Someone with hazel or blue eyes and blond hair would look good in a maroon or light-yellow top. The bottoms for these tops should be dark brown, black, or denim jeans. A multicolored plaid skirt that matched the earth-toned scheme would also fit well with any solid fall-colored top. The use of color theory can benefit men and women both when making outfit choices.
Most men can follow these same style choices and look charming. Wearing a long-sleeved black or white shirt under a graphic tee is also very fashionable for this time of the year. If the graphic tee is black or gray, wear a black long-sleeved shirt underneath with light blue or gray jeans. If the graphic tee is white, wear a white long-sleeved shirt underneath with dark blue or black jeans.
A primarily solid black or white pair of shoes is the most reasonable way to accommodate the clothing. Brown, black, or gray boots reasonably go with all skirts or pants for women. Men can usually wear a pair of sneakers to complement all aspects of their wardrobe.
Style is tied to individuality, how one wants to present themselves to the world. Style begins with understanding color theory. Once one understands what colors accompany their characteristics, everything else will fall into place.
