The Greyhound volleyball team hit the road September 26th for their two tough away series against The University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB) and Western New Mexico University. They started their roadtrip in Odessa, Texas then to Western New Mexico for the two of many games of the 2024 season.
The Greyhounds knew going into the match that it would be a difficult matchup as UTPB had been on a 7-0 roll since September 7th, 2024; not to mention the disadvantage of playing away at the Falcon’s homecourt. The Greyhounds fought hard and gave tons of energy and effort, but it unfortunately was not enough as they were defeated three sets to none. The Falcons in every stat category except for aces, which the Greyhounds tied four aces to four aces during the match.
After the loss, the Greyhounds hit the road back across the state line as they headed to Silver City, New Mexico to face off the Western New Mexico Mustangs. The Greyhounds and Mustangs had met the week before at home in Portales, the result of this match being a win for the Greyhounds. The rematch took place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 28th, and unfortunately did not have the same result as the last matachup between the two schools. ENMU fell to WNMU three sets to none, leaving the Greyhounds record at 3-10 overall and 0-2 in conference.
