Look out Eastern, final exams are approaching quickly. This can be a stressful time of year, especially if you are a freshman who has not gone through this yet! Take a deep breath and follow this advice to make sure you are ready to ace these tests.
-Catch up on assignments. This is not only a wonderful way to study material that will be on your exam, but may also get your grade up. Relying on your exam grade to pass a class is not a great idea, so make sure your other assignments are turned in, and you understand all the concepts.
-Make time to study. Studying your semester notes, looking through your textbook or class lectures, and going back over assignments are all great ways to study for your exams. Consider forming a study group with classmates, as this is an effective way to clarify questions and think about concepts in a different way. Study groups also have the benefit of getting you out of your dorm!
-Try to take care of yourself. Your body is important to keep in mind for these exams. Make sure to eat well, drink lots of water on top of your energy drinks, and sleep as much as you can manage. Eight hours of sleep is just not going to happen, but four hours is better than two. Studying in the CUB might be a good idea, so you remember to eat and take breaks.
Whether this is your first or last final exam, this time of year is scary. Being prepared is important, but taking care of yourself is just as- if not more- important. Consider taking advantage of the resources around campus, like the Golden Library, the CUB, and the tutor services like the Math Lab or Writing Center.
