Although this page is designated for my brother, I decided to use this week to post about something I had put a lot of time and effort into for the past few weeks, my sister’s baby shower!
I decided around September that I wanted to host my sister’s baby shower. I went with a fall theme since the baby shower was planned to be held in November. the colors chosen were, of course, fall colors. Burnt orange, tan, dark brown, and maroon. We held the shower in my moms backyard since it was a great space and we assumed it would be the perfect weather.
When I started planning the shower I decided to go ahead and start looking for decorations since it was fall and I did not want to be last minute with everything. I chose not to stress out the day so getting things done in advance would help. I went to Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, Party City, and Walmart. I wasn’t too worried about spending too much money since I would use the decorations again for the season and thanksgiving.
Everytime i went to the store I bought a pumpkin or two which became a bit obsessive because I ended up with too many pumpkins. I used a few for the backdrop photo area and put two per table along with a cheesecloth table runner and a centerpiece. The dessert table had a backdrop full of balloons with the theme colors. The backdrop also had three large hay bales.
For food we went with the easiest source, sandwiches. I went with chicken salad, ham and turkey, pasta salad, along with pizza rolls. We made all the food early enough that we just had to prepare it when the time came. Drinks were lemonade and sweet tea. I also made mini cinnamon rolls for the tables and small charcuterie boards for guests to have when they arrived.
