On June 21, 2025, Vernon Trails became one of 25 recipients out of nearly 1,000 applicants to receive a T-Mobile Hometown Grant in the amount of $48,390.
Vernon Trails is a volunteer driven non-profit with a mission to create, expand and upkeep multi-use trails in Vernon County, WI. Since Vernon Trails was founded 19 years ago, they have succeeded in expanding multi-use trails from 0 miles to 60 miles. These trails enhance the beautiful landscape of Vernon County, provide outdoor recreation opportunities for community members and drive tourism. On June 21, volunteer executive director Alycann Taylor accepted a check from T-Mobile on behalf of Vernon Trails with a heartfelt speech. The grant is a huge boost for Vernon Trails to continue trailblazing. The funds will be focused on expanding signage across existing trail systems which will improve safety and accessibility. Taylor spoke to the non-profit’s tenacity and commitment to community trail access, saying “much of what we have helped create here is held together by duct tape and dreams.” Being selected for the Hometown grant out of nearly 1,000 applicants affirms the importance of Vernon Trails mission and significance of their impact on the community in Vernon County.
