I have lived in England for just under two years, and it never ceases to amaze me how easy it is to explore all over Europe from one of the many London airports. Just the other day, I found a round-trip flight to Milan for under $40. Without much planning, I booked it, and in just a few weeks and a short three-hour flight, I will be sipping espresso in a sunny Italian piazza, staring up at the Duomo. Milan is known for designer shops, delicious gelato, and their glorious food. Every extreme day trip is a great escape for soaking in the feeling of adventure and pausing everyday life, even if it is for just a few hours.
By midnight, I will be back in my own bed, amazed that I had a day packed full of Italian adventures. Whether it’s Paris, Copenhagen, Gdańsk, or Amsterdam— trains and flights make it possible to experience another culture and city without the hassle of long trips or expensive vacations. Living in England has shown me that adventure is always just a quick trip away.
