Eastern New Mexico University’s women’s soccer team plays in the Lone Star Conference at the NCAA Division II level in Portales, New Mexico. The home of the greyhounds is Al Whitehead Field at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium, a modern facility in Portales that accommodates Soccer, Track & Field, and Football.
In 2024, the Greyhounds had a 3-12-1 overall record and a 2-10-0 conference record at the end of the season. 10 of the 17 games they played were at home. They had a 1-5-0 away record and a 2-7-1 home record. They were under the command of the Head Coach Belcher, but halfway through the season, that changed, and the assistant Coach Nona Borden took charge of the team.
After taking on an interim role, Nona Borden was appointed head coach in February 2025 and is currently guiding the team through a period of reconstruction. Despite the challenging outcomes, the program continues to be a vital means for ENMU student-athletes to participate, develop, and represent their university on the field.
In 2025, the Greyhounds are having a hard season so far, going 0-11 overall and a 0-9 in conference play. The team has struggled offensively, losing many games by a large margin. With significant goal deficits in multiple games, defense has been under strain. However, with a new coach, new players, and fierce competition, the season is undoubtedly one of reconstruction and development.
