Even with Portales being as small as it is, we have so many amazing events right here on campus.
ENMU’s Associated Student Activities Board (ASAB) holds an event every semester called a “Foodie Movie.” First, they choose a movie for the students and the community to watch. Some examples from past Foodie Movies are “Ratatouille” and “The Princess and the Frog.”
It starts on the Sunday before the event, where ASAB and Students from the Culinary Department work to make the food for the night. They cook throughout the morning, whether it is pasta or mini sliders.
On the day of the event, ASAB volunteers and employees work as servers, dressing in all black, taking food and sweets out to the table. Food is brought out at certain times of the movie, which correlates to what is going on in the movie. Like for “Ratatouille,” they brought out the main course of ratatouille during the scene with it.
Only 150 tickets are available for students and the community. There is also another Foodie Movie on Feb. 23 at 6:00 p.m. Make sure to look out for the tickets around campus, where you can scan a QR code to claim one. Also, you can stay up to date with all of ASAB’s events by following them @enmu.asab on Instagram or Facebook.
