Starting a new semester means new expenses for college students everywhere, especially after the holidays, but many companies are providing a little leeway for those of us dealing with excessive charges.
For a traditional college student, some of the most significant purchases will come from technology. Laptops, tablets, computers all come at hefty prices but companies like Apple, Microsoft and Dell provide up to a 10% off by just verifying your status as a college student.
Companies are also catering towards fun and entertainment for students. Streaming services like Hulu are offering verified students a subscription for only $1.99 a month, an 83% discount from their regular price.
And it’s not only large companies in big cities participating in these discounts. For those in Portales or its surrounding areas, Grubhub and DoorDash offer lower delivery fees or even credits for future purchases.
Websites like StudentBeans and UNiDAYS are full of dozens of deals and discounts for college students, and make finding those premiums easy. They also help to confirm your status as a student, allowing for smooth checkouts in the future.
Although the costs of being a college student seem endless, the discounts provided by so many companies can help to make all of the extra charges not so daunting. Just ask if a store has a student discount at the register, and you may end up saving yourself hundreds.
