Sarah Lieb graduated from Eastern New Mexico University with a Bachelors of Arts in Sports Recreation Management and a minor in coaching in 2016. While Sarah was in school at ENMU, she played on the basketball team. She now owns her own business in Clovis, New Mexico, called Clovis Cryo. Continuing the Greyhound tradition was important to Sarah. She also liked that Eastern is a “smaller university because it felt close to home”.
Sarah is originally from Fort Sumner, New Mexico. She went to Howard College in Big Spring, Texas, before transferring to ENMU to pursue playing basketball. As well as, “continuing the family tradition”. Sarah’s parents, brother, and grandfather all attended and graduated from Eastern, making them “A family of ENMU”. From there, she started coaching and teaching high schoolers. While coaching in San Angelo, she met her now husband, Lathan Lieb, and they moved back to the Portales/Clovis area.
When Sarah moved back to Portales, she acquired her certification in personal training. She worked at Snap Fitness as a personal trainer from 2018 to 2020. After her time at Snap, she opened her own studio in Portales, NM. Sarah did research into cryotherapy and decided it was something she wanted to add to her personal training. She stated, “It is really good for pain management and the health of athletes”. Once Sarah felt that her business had gotten big enough, she made the decision to move it to Clovis.
When asked if she had any other dreams or aspirations, Sarah responded, “Honestly, owning my own business was my main aspiration and I am currently living that right now. I am 29 and being able to start my own business at that age has been a dream come true.” Besides being a local business owner, Sarah also has a three-year-old daughter and enjoys working out in her free time.
Sarah said that the people at Eastern were personable, and she wants people to know that, “They can be successful people coming from Eastern… I had great opportunities coming out of Eastern and that is a part of my story.”
