An online resource designed to keep Cannon Air Force Base personnel and surrounding communities informed is not reaching its full potential due to a lack of awareness.
Picture a typical bulletin board where you can walk up and view what has been posted by the community—now imagine that, but digital. That is the idea behind the Padlet boards used by Cannon AFB. The platform serves as an online space for sharing local news, advisories, and events, allowing users to post updates, images, and links. Content must be approved before appearing publicly, ensuring relevance and accuracy.
One of the platform’s most unique features is that anyone can submit to these boards, making them a valuable tool for sharing community-driven information. Whether it is an upcoming event, a local business promotion, or an important advisory, community members can contribute posts that help keep others informed. However, despite its availability, many in the community remain unaware of the platform.
Local Padlet boards already provide valuable information, covering topics such as events around Cannon AFB and important base advisories. With more engagement, they could become an even stronger tool for military families, small businesses, and local organizations.
With over 40 million users worldwide, Padlet has proven valuable in education and business settings. At Cannon AFB, increased participation could make it a more central hub for sharing information about events, local services, and emergency updates.
