Eastern New Mexico University’s 30th annual Songfest will be held on Monday Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. in the ballroom.
As the fall semester progresses, ENMU will be hosting their 30th annual Songfest! Since last year’s event was canceled due to COVID-19, this year’s Songfest is a big deal.
Songfest is hosted by ENMU’s Associated Students Activities Board, and it’s the ultimate competition where groups and organizations can perform songs, skits, and dances against one another to win. This year’s prizes will be based on first, second, and third place winners. First place will win $300, second place will win $200, and third place will win $100!
Songfest is an event where students, faculty, and community members get free admission, including organizations who want to perform. SafeRide, Kappa Sigma, Zeta Tau Alpha, and Chi Omega have all registered so far.. If you or your organization is interested in performing for this year’s Songfest, reach out to ASAB for registration information! The expected turnout this year will be around 200 people and the duration is estimated to be about 2 hours long.
To ensure the safety of everyone in the community, ENMU guidelines for COVID-vaccinated and COVID-unvaccinated individuals will be enforced, masks must be worn at all times indoors. Performers and nonperformers should be prepared to wear a mask. For more information regarding COVID-19, please visit enmu.edu/HealthAdvisory.
