A month ago, the women’s soccer and volleyball teams at Eastern New Mexico University had their senior day with a lively celebration with their families and friends. To honor each senior’s commitment, leadership, and enthusiasm for their sport, families, supporters, and teammates crowded the stands.
Warm applause and pictures playing, were given to the soccer seniors and their families prior to kickoff at Greyhound Stadium. Coaches highlighted each player’s development, perseverance, and dedication to the program while discussing the contributions they have made on the field and in the classroom. The team was determined to send their seniors farewell with pride, and the ensuing game was driven by emotion.
The volleyball team staged its own emotional ceremony inside Greyhound Arena later that week. Seniors were honored for their years of dedication, outstanding performances, and guidance of newer players. The crowd’s energy carried into the match, creating an atmosphere worthy of the athletes who have helped shape ENMU athletics. Senior Night was a potent reminder of the legacy these Greyhounds leave behind as well as their promising futures.
