What comes to mind when you think about being stressed? Due dates on assignments, working doubles at your day job? How do you manage your time?
The answers to these questions can be different for everyone. The first step is committing to how you manage your time well enough so you can have time to de-stress.
Managing time is something that becomes challenging so here are some tips to help keep you on a progressive track. A starting point is to organize a realistic schedule. Be detailed with this schedule including activities such as laundry, shopping, cooking, and any other daily tasks that you usually do in a week.
On this realistic schedule, you should have your class work or workdays prioritized such as what assignments are due first labeled and what hours you work that day so you can plan accordingly. Having a plan is important to have an organized day. Obstacles can get in the way of those plans but in those times, you need to take some deep breaths and have a drink of water to calm down.
Sometimes a bump in the road gives you a random moment to calm down and those are sometimes the most needed moments. You can take those moments and learn from them to create a new and better way of executing the tasks. Also having a complex way of thinking can help stay positive.
Being negative about situations that are sporadic is completely normal, but you can’t let those moments overpower you. Having willpower and resilience is a gift all of us have deep down within us. That resilience can be turned into motivation to achieve your goal and execute your tasks to become accomplishments.
The feeling of turning in that last assignment and knowing you can finally take a break is a feeling of both accomplishment and relief. That feeling is what fuels you to keep going and keep wanting to accomplish your goals.
Most importantly always make time to get an efficient amount of sleep and to have a good, balanced meal. Having a busy schedule can cause most people to push back on sleeping and eating but those 2 things are what keep your brain at its sharpest. No matter what is going on, always make time to calm down and have a moment of peace.
