Thinking of fun things to do during the winter can be a struggle. Especially when you live in an area that doesn’t get any snow. However, with this article I will be exploring many of the fun and interesting things that you can do without relying on the weather.
If you are crafty, you can have fun creating DIY Christmas decorations. To get inspired, you can search for easy crafts to do online on sites such as YouTube and Pinterest. My favorite thing to create is dried orange and cranberry garlands! Citrus fruits have historically been used during the wintertime in all sorts of ways. Oranges, limes, and lemons are all in season during the winter, and they provide a steady source of vitamin C during the dark and long months. Drying leftover slices and stringing them up also represents the sun and provides a fun bright color to contrast with the colors of the harsh winter.
Of course, winter is also the perfect time of year to finally learn how to knit or crochet! Handmade textiles can make the best Christmas gifts. You can feel good knowing that you created something that can be useful and can be utilized during the winter. Scarves are a simple way to start knitting without having to learn specific patterns. Then once you get your feet wet, you can learn how to make hats, gloves, blankets, and more!
Wintertime can be a difficult time for some, but with these easy hobbies you can enjoy the season without relying on snow. Happy crafting!
